One of the (many, many) things that Bethany has gotten me addicted to is the 7 Days Flickr group. What can I say? She has good taste in cookies and TV and photos. (And many other things, but I’m too lazy to think further than three.)
This was Day 1’s photo and description:
I had a prenatal appointment yesterday and afterward, I was sitting in the lobby texting Noah to tell him how it went. A middle-aged guy was sitting beside me and asked, “Are you pregnant?”
“Yep, a little bit.” I replied.
He went on, “So, you look like you’re almost done!”
I laughed and shook my head, “No, I still have about four months left.”
I got up to head out to my car and he said, “Well, Merry Christmas!”
I wished him a Merry Christmas in return, but kind of wanted to ask him questions about HIS belly.
One of the main reasons that I love 7 Days is that it forces me to pick up my camera. I haven’t been feeling too inspired lately. It’s funny to me when I look into my photos folder because I can tell when I was suffering from depressive episodes. Photos during those times are few and far between. Then there’s the manic periods where I take photos almost daily. I’d kill for a happy medium!
I asked my camera-loving Kaylie if she’d like to participate in 7 Days as well, and she jumped on board right away.
This photo represents my spirit of Christmas because there is a little tree in the background.
I often let her and Liliana play with the point-and-shoot and make their own home videos. She’d drain the battery daily if she was left to her own devices.
Here’s to a great self-portraiting week-before-Christmas!
