I used to love to drive. Living in a(n albeit small-ish) city has made me hate it.
We live in the north end, my husband works in the waaay south end. At 6:30am, I drive him to work and it takes about half an hour for the round trip because the traffic isn’t so bad that early. I get home, get the kids ready to go, leave the house at 8:00am, drop Liliana at daycare, Kaylie at school, and I get to work at 9:00am.
I leave at 5:00pm, pick Liliana up from daycare, Kaylie from school, Noah from work, and if the traffic isn’t so bad we get home at around 6:30pm.
I grew up in a very small northern BC town and am used to my “commute” being about 10 minutes, including dropping kids off. On average, I drive about 75km (45 mi) every day. This 2+ hours in the car per day is NOT VERY FUN. I know for bigger-city people this is small potatoes, but I DON’T LIKE IT.
My cushy Canadian first-world life is so hard.
