7 days :: 7 :: Rainbow

Have you ever had the chance to meet the author who wrote one of your very favourite books? I got to do that this weekend.

Have you heard of Eleanor & Park? Rainbow Rowell, the gorgeous lady in the centre of this here photo, wrote that book and it is phenomenal. You must read it. Also? I have a copy of her next book, Fangirl, which comes out in September. It’s Bethany’s copy and I’ve only read the first two pages, but I’m already stoked to read the rest of it, and I’d totally stay up all night tonight reading it if I didn’t have to be walking upright all day tomorrow. And the fact that my alarm is set for less than five hours from now and I should have been in bed many hours ago. Self-destructive tendencies, FTW!

Also, Rainbow’s first novel, Attachments, is quite fantastic. It’s been added to my read-yearly list. AND she’s got more books in the works, and seriously, you need to read them ALL.

Anyway, earlier today we also hit up Powell’s, which is a giant new/used book store in Portland. I want one next door to my house, except that I’d probably drop millions of dollars there daily, so maybe not. But I did not want to leave.

  1. WOW! She’s beautiful. Meredith loves “Eleanor & Park” and said that when she read the book, in her mind she pictured someone exactly like her, just with red hair. :) I’m going to buy Fangirl RIGHT NOW.
