We made it to Calgary.
The van did not cause a single problem on the way here. Thank the Lord!! The girls were AMAZING the entire time and made up for it by having more energy than I have ever seen once we checked in to our hotel. I had planned ahead and baked oatmeal raisin cookies, banana bread, and bran muffins and cut up a bunch of vegetables and fruit so that we wouldn’t have to waste money on junk food – and it’s healthier!
Colin and Ashley (Kaylie’s biological dad and his girlfriend) met up with us shortly after we arrived here. We had dinner with them and then us three adults watched as the kids blew off some energy in the pool. Liliana’s filling her diaper (she told me about it by yelling, “POOP STINKY!”) made us have to exit the pool prematurely, followed by her screaming at the top of her lungs all the way back to our room while I tried to explain to her that we just had to get the poop out and then we could to back in the “waller” (water). A man even stepped out into the hall to see if someone was getting killed, what with all the LOUD SCREAMING. But no, just a toddler who was unwilling to have the poop removed from her swimmer diaper.
After our visitors left, we went back in the pool, and this time I joined the girls. (Because there was no one else there this time to see how horrible I look in a bathing suit.) This time when we got out, I bribed Liliana with a cookie. I just didn’t want to scare the other hotel guests again!
I just got off the phone with Noah, and he was kind enough to read me all the comments on my previous blog post (exclaimation marks included) and read my Facebook messages to me. He’s such a dear.
And that’s all I have time for. I’m on the hotel computer (and I’m limited to EXACTLY 15 minutes) since SOMEONE didn’t want me to take our laptop because SOMEONE thought that he would be too bored without it. But honestly, it’s all good. I will hardly have time for it anyway, but I have to give SOMEONE a hard time since I’m not there to do it in person. But, the pictures will have to wait until I feel like ripping myself away from the awesome people I have the privilege of visiting.
1:28 left on the timer. Phew!
