Today you turn four years old. It seems like you were just born, but I can’t remember life without you. You are the best gift your dad and sisters and I could ever receive.
You are an affectionate little dude. You love kisses and hugs and sitting right close to me with no space between us. Your dad can’t give me a hug without you running and putting yourself between us because you want a hug too. You shower me with “I wuv you, Mum”s. You’re my best bud and I’m so thankful that I get to spend so much time just me and you.
You love spending time with your dad. You love to wrestle and watch sports and play video games. Super Mario Bros is your favourite game. You sometimes sneak out of your room before you’re allowed to in the morning to play on the game pad. You think you’ve out-smarted us when you race back to your room when you hear us get up, but you leave the game pad in the middle of the room and totally give yourself away.
You love your sisters and want to do everything they are doing. You are very sad when they do or play something without you. Kiwi and Nana dote on you and kind of spoil you a little bit. Sometimes you go into Nana’s room and sneak one of her ponies and then throw it back in her room before she gets home. She notices this, you know, you little goofball.
You love being outside. You got mad at me on the -40°C winter days because I told you you had to stay inside. I’m sure we’ll spend lots of time out there today, though, as I’m letting you do whatever you want (within reason). You’re the boss for the day.
Your Big Papi and Miss Sue moved to “Kehwowna” earlier this year and you miss them a lot, but you’re so happy that they come through often. Miss Sue will be here next weekend! You are quite excited.
You love your friends Emma and Wivia and Kesweh and Bendsi and Woedin. (Emma, Lyvia, Kesler, Benji, Ronan). And also Miss Elsa. You get so excited when you get to see them and you are so sad when it’s time to part ways.
Your favourite toy is your Mario stuffie. He sleeps with you every night and often flies around during the day.
You love school days because you get to see your friends Tahwin and Woegin (Talan & Logan). Ms F must be doing some fine work with you because I was surprised to find out a couple days ago that you know how to write your name. Pretty impressive, mister.
You love babies, especially your cousin Baby Wundin (London). You talk about her all the time and declare that you get to see her “tomowwow”.
I’m so grateful to have you as a part of our family, Presto. These last four years have been the best of my life and I look forward to many, many more years with you.
